A career in energy exploration spanning thirty-plus years took me all over the world. I've worked on five continents and have lived in Aberdeen, Calgary, Bogotá, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Ho Chi Minh City, among others.
I now live just south of Campbell River, on mid-Vancouver Island - a relaxed haven of sandy beaches, mountain-ringed valleys, and relaxed coastal communities.
My photographic journey began when I was around ten, and has evolved in leaps and bounds, often capturing my travel and life experiences. My current interests are varied, but include lifestyle, wildlife, and travel genres, as well as focused commercial projects.
I take great pleasure in experimenting with new ideas and techniques, some of which work, and some don't - a process, I firmly believe, through trial and error, is essential for keeping creativity and ideas alive and maintaining the much-needed inspiration and motivation.
I'm a geoscientist with an MBA and a diploma in Professional Photography from the Photography Institute. I am also a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada, which enables me to connect with many talented photographers.
My work has appeared in local magazines, on book covers, and in various company reports and has been showcased in a few local art galleries.
I work out of my small studio, focusing on a range of personal projects and commercial work.
